WHY WE STARTED
Every Saturday a group of volunteers meet at a private home and prepare food – soup (zupa) and sandwiches for the homeless in Sopot city, and they distribute it on the main street Bohaterów Monte Cassino, which is popularly called Monciak, on Sundays, the whole year round. Zupa na Monciaku also provides clean underwear, socks, shoes, and whatever the homeless might need. As we could imagine that lack of hygiene leads to many illnesses, so once a week these unfortunate people could have basic medical help, also alcoholism is an issue among them. Zupa na Monciaku organizes therapy in rehabilitation centers too.
