Dear All,
I would like to than you on behalf of RC Warszawa Wilanow for the contributions you all made to making a success of the first stage of our Uganda project. This was an education project which during the Covid-19 pandemic was temporarily changed to a humanitarian project providing help to people without food in the village of Nyabyeya Uganda. You may remember that this village has historical links with Poland after it sheltered “Siberian” Poles after they left Soviet Union gulags in 1942.
The money we collected was sent to Nyabyeya via Rotary Club Kampala Nsambya which was kind enough to see that the funds reached Nyabyeya safely.
Please read the report compiled by the Polish Development & Educational Organisation of Uganda (PODEOU) which is based in Nyabyeya and looks after the Polish cemetery and church which is the lasting legacy of the Siberian Poles.
Whilst there is an almost complete lack of food (and medicines) in this part of Uganda following the draconian lockdown due to Covid-19, we will continue to raise funds for the poor there. We count on your kind and continued help in this grave matter.
Please let us have your comments and thoughts on this project.
Regards
Ray Tomecki
