Children’s Day – spent in pain, alone, in a foreign environment, among adult strangers who sometimes have to cause pain, without parents who can’t visit due to epidemics, who would hug and bring some comfort. This is the reality of sick kids in the Children Ward in the Pomeranian Rheumatology Center in Sopot.
Our club collects funds for larger purchases, but for the time being, to make the hospital stay more pleasant for the young patients, we decided to buy and provide a TV set and colorful furniture adapted to the height of children, easy to disinfect and made of materials that are harmless to health.
After an intense remote school session and watching cartoons on the TV, it is nice to sit at a table and transfer ideas and feelings to paper, of course in fabulous colors.
A happier Children’s Day to the little patients!
We hope that a blood vessels scanner purchase will be possible next year to make the frequent blood sampling and injection applications more bearable to the young patients.
